Wikki K Erotichna: The Adventure Behind Blue Between Us
Sometimes the most beautiful locations make you work for them.
When we found this place, I knew immediately that I wanted to shoot Wikki K for Erotichna here. From a distance it already looked special dark volcanic rock, a hidden opening in the cliffs, and that incredible turquoise water glowing underneath everything. The problem was getting there.
There was no comfortable path waiting for us. We had a proper little trek, climbing and walking across the rocks while carrying cameras, lenses, batteries and the rest of the equipment. Every few minutes I was probably asking myself why photographers always fall in love with the locations that are hardest to reach.
Wikki, meanwhile, seemed completely unbothered.
She was jumping from one rock to another with her little white bikini, moving so easily that she started to look like a white bunny disappearing through the rocks. I was carrying the camera gear carefully behind her while she was already several steps ahead, looking back at me as if to say, Come on, what is taking you so long?
By the time we finally reached the cave, all the effort suddenly made sense.
The contrast was beautiful. Rough black and brown volcanic walls around us, deep blue water below, and Wikki standing right in the middle of it in white. There was something almost unreal about her there. Very soft and feminine against a location that felt completely wild.
And that is where Blue Between Us really started to find its mood.
Wild Rocks, Blue Water and Wikki K
Once the camera came out, Wikki changed from our little rock-jumping bunny into something much more seductive. She has this nice ability to look relaxed even when the environment around her is anything but comfortable.
The rocks were sharp, the places to stand were limited and every position needed a little planning, but she kept finding beautiful shapes naturally. Sometimes standing confidently above the water, sometimes leaning into the rock, sometimes just turning toward my camera with that calm look that makes you forget how difficult it was to get there.
I especially loved shooting the wider frames. Normally I like being close to the model, but here the location deserved space. Wikki looks almost small inside this enormous volcanic cave, surrounded by rock and blue water, yet somehow your eyes still go directly to her.
That balance became one of my favorite things about this shoot the landscape feels powerful, but Wikki never disappears inside it.
After all the trekking, carrying equipment and carefully finding our way across those rocks, we had our little private corner of the coast to ourselves.
And looking at the images now, I think the difficult road there became part of the beauty of Blue Between Us. Sometimes a shoot is not just about arriving at a location, taking out the camera and starting to work. Sometimes the adventure before the first frame becomes part of the memory too.
This was definitely one of those days.
