Aria Star made the pool look like it had been built for her. I’m not sure the pool had agreed to this arrangement, but it didn’t get much say once we started filming. :)
Private Horizon is a video, and that mattered to me from the beginning. Aria has a top-level glamorous look, the sort that makes me lift the camera and immediately wonder whether I’m doing it justice. Beside the pool, she gave me something more to work with: a setting that suited her confidence and made the whole shooting feel wonderfully playful.
There is a difference between finding one beautiful photograph and keeping that feeling alive on video. I can’t rely on a single perfect frame and declare victory. The camera has to stay with her, and I have to notice what is working as it happens.
Which sounds very professional, doesn’t it? Meanwhile, part of my brain was probably saying, David, please stop admiring how good this looks and remember that you’re supposed to be filming.
Aria made that a pleasant problem to have. Her glamour is obvious, but what I enjoyed was the way she seemed to make the pool part of her world. It wasn’t competing with her for attention. If anything, it was doing its best to keep up. How often does a pool get to play a supporting role to Aria Star?
I wanted the video to have room for that mood. Sexy can be playful. It doesn’t have to be a solemn occasion with the photographer behaving as though he’s guarding a priceless museum exhibit. Of course I cared about how everything looked. I always do. But I also wanted to enjoy the energy Aria brought to the shooting instead of fussing over it until all the fun disappeared.
That is the danger of being behind the camera: I can become very interested in tiny adjustments while the most interesting thing is already right in front of me. Aria’s look, the pool, that confident feeling they created together. At some point I have to trust my eyes and keep filming.
I still think she took over the pool. Not in any official sense. I’m sure it remains a perfectly respectable pool with other responsibilities. But for Private Horizon, it felt like Aria’s place, and I was the lucky one trying to capture that feeling on camera. 😇
This was a wonderful video to make for Erotichna. Aria gave it glamour, warmth and a teasing sense of fun. I came away appreciating not only how beautiful she looks on camera, but how much pleasure there is in filming someone who can make a setting feel entirely her own.
Even a pool has to know when it’s been upstaged. :)
