Valery in All I Know 2

When I photographed All I Know 1, what I loved most was how simple the idea felt. Warm daylight, the wooden tones of the kitchen, a tiny pale-pink outfit and Valery standing right in the middle of it all.
Nothing complicated was needed. She already had the look, the confidence and that slightly teasing expression that makes you keep watching. But during the shoot I knew the photographs were only telling half of the story.
That is where All I Know 2 begins. With video, Valery’s personality comes through in a completely different way. The little pauses, the way she looks directly into the camera, the movement of her hair, the change from a playful smile to something much more seductive.
Even the kitchen suddenly feels different when she starts moving through it. I especially liked the contrast in this scene.
Everything around her feels warm, relaxed and almost like an ordinary afternoon at home, while Valery is anything but ordinary. That soft pink styling against the wooden interior gave me exactly the mood I wanted: feminine, intimate and very playful. There are shoots where I feel the camera has to chase the model.
With Valery, I prefer to wait. She knows how to give you a moment without forcing it, and sometimes the strongest shot or the strongest few seconds of video comes just after you think the pose is finished. All I Know 1 was the photograph. All I Know 2 is what happened when Valery started to move. And now the complete video is online on MetArt.
