There is something very easy about working with Betty Lang. She is incredibly sexy, of course, but what I enjoy most is the softness she brings to a shoot. Nothing feels forced with her. We can slow everything down, talk, laugh a little, find the right light, and simply enjoy the moment together.
Betty is one of my favorite models because she carries everything so naturally. Give her delicate pink lingerie, a beautiful bedroom and a camera, and she immediately understands the mood. A small smile, the way she plays with her long hair, the quiet confidence in her eyes she never needs to exaggerate anything. She knows exactly how much to give.
That was the feeling behind She Knows 1. The deep blue walls, rich green bedspread and soft pink satin created such a beautiful contrast around her, but Betty was always the center of it. As the shoot became more intimate, we kept the same relaxed rhythm. No rush, no pressure — just two people who know each other well enough to enjoy creating something sensual together.
I think you can feel that comfort in the photographs. Betty can move from sweet and playful to intensely seductive almost without you noticing the transition. She makes it look effortless, and that is one of the reasons I always love having her in front of my camera.
